Kalispell, May 23.-- Hon. Lyman Loring, a member of the soldiers' home commission and a man of prominence in politics in this county and state, died Sunday morning after a lingering illness, of Bright's disease. His funeral was held this afternoon in the Episcopal church, Rev. T. E. Hickey officiating. Deceased leaves a wife and grown son.

Mr. Loring was well known in this vicinity where he lived before going to the Flathead. He was a member of the state legislature from Missoula county, then comprising what are now Missoula, Ravalli and Flathead counties, in 1892, and voted in that body for the creation of this county. He has many old friends here.

Mr. Loring was untiring in his efforts to secure for Flathead county the home (Montana Soldiers' Home), and after once secured worked to his utmost ability to have the same erected and occupied. He was a past commander of the G.A.R. camp of Kalispell and a politician of note in the state as well as county.

Certificate of Death, dated May 22,1898, for Kalispell, Flathead County, lists Lyman Loring, farmer near Kalispell, resident of that place for six years.
